The Playlist Pizzeria [Bandra]

I landed upon a pizza gold mine recently when I went to Playlist Pizzeria. See, I know gold-mine for pizza makes no sense, a gold-mine should have gold, but what good is gold? Can it satiate your hunger? Pizza can. Can you top it with cheese and then a little extra cheese? You can to a pizza. Can it give you that happiness that you get after eating something amazing? Well, a great pizza can give you that heavenly feeling. So yes, my gold mine should have pizza in it. Pizza all the way!!!!

Anyway, before I digress to la-la-land, let’s talk about Playlist Pizzeria. Playlist has the entire music theme going on, from the walls to the wooden half a ‘record’ shaped plates to the pizza options.

Some of the options you get, go by the names of Blurred Lines, Hips Don’t Lie, Californication, and Lost and Found. It is pretty cool. And the better part is, they let you design your own pizza! Under the ‘Producers’ section on their menu, are listed the base, cheese options, sauce options and endless toppings. If you are the picky type, whose side plate shows more veggies than the pizza itself, then this section is for you. Go on, make that very special pizza you always wished someone make for you!

Their appetizers and salads are mentioned under the name ‘Opening act’ and beverages under the ‘Supporting act’. Got to say, pretty smart move there guys. Club this with the awesome triangular light signs on top, the wall décor, the music in the background and you know the people who came up with the idea of this pizzeria are soul-deep into music (and pizza of course)!!

We ordered the chilli cheese garlic bread from the ‘Opening act’ to open our gig at the pizzeria. The garlic bread was crisp on the edges with a generous amount of cheese almost melting in your mouth. Good enough to get you fighting for the last piece, which obviously I won!

From their ‘Mainstage’ (where they list the pizza options), we decided to order a Reverb – tandoori paneer, green chillies and onions.  I am drooling as I write this. Perfectly crispy flatbread pizza, with a mind-blowing medley of the cheese and sauce, makes for a mouth-watering pizza.

The next we ordered a Californication – red onion, garlic, spinach, jalapenos, red pepper and arugula. With tons of toppings and olive oil on top, this colourful and dare I forget yummy pizza was just amazing.

We almost could not move after stuffing ourselves with slice after slice.

The Battle: Having to stop at just two pizzas (yup I said ‘just’ two). If only I had an enlargeable tummy or maybe a replaceable one which allowed me to carry a spare one around, I would definitely have helped myself with another one with maybe a Summertime Madness or a Blurred Lines and even a Poker Face. But alas!

Playlist Pizzeria is worth a visit for anyone who loves pizza!

  1. These pictures that you’ve taken – I just wish I could teleport right through my screen and grab that pizza , but since Elon Musk is still couple of years away from achieving that, I can’t help but sulk!

Awesome review, this one is on my list!
