The Little Door is a fun and beautiful place to unwind. It has a great ambience with an amazing old world decor. A unique homely charm is something that will pull you in and keep you there.
But sometimes, even some of the best things leave you really disappointed. My experience of this place…. their food to be precise can be explained in just a single phrase: “All that glitters is not gold”. I wish this was not true, but it is. The food here is just plain disappointing. It is basically just big fancy names and blown out of proportion descriptions with no substance. What this place is good for and known for is the great variety of alcohol.
They themselves focus more on the drinks part of the place. Open their website (which is kinda cute by the way) and the first few words you come across are drink, drink and make merry, etc. So yes, the drinks part, they have nailed it right!! The ambience is amazing and extremely comfortable to relax with a drink or five. Their alcohol menu actually has a good spread. From beer to wine to shooters and cocktails, there is something for everyone here. The service is slow when it comes to food but super quick when it comes to drinks, and very friendly overall. The music is really good and there are various games etc. that one can choose from to unwind with.
We ordered the Firecracker from the ‘From the Farmers’ section which basically means vegetarian appetizers. The description for the dish goes – ‘batter fried crunchy exotic vegetables tossed in our special spicy flavourful sauce’, which is just fancy for a very common dish called veg crispy. And that too a very basic version of it. Real disappointment!
The Cottage Cheese Kabob which is fancy for paneer chilly was no different.
As expected, what they nailed were the Mimosas and the Bellinis. Perfect to get you tipsy and high (eventually). To those, I give five stars!!
They play some dice games that let you get discounts on your bill or some other treats. My bill was slashed by 50% ‘coz I am a pro at calling out random numbers and getting them right. Hahaha!!
Ambience 🙂 🙂
The Battle: The most difficult thing I did here was to actually finish the food. It was extremely below my expectations. And the positive one about the place is that the spirit of the place makes it difficult for one to leave.
Apologies for the not so good pictures 😐
