Liebster Award – Happy things happening!

It is a happy day!! I am dancing (in my mind I am!) with happiness and gratitude towards The Picky Gourmet for nominating me for the Liebster Award 🙂

It may  not be much for the rest, but it is a lot for me, to be recognized, even by a small group, even by a single person (and when the person is an established and an amazing blogger, all the more amazing!). So yes, happy things are happening and I am ecstatic 🙂 Thank you The Picky Gourmet for nominating me!

So according to the rules, I am supposed to:

  1. Thank the person who nominated me and link back to their blog.
  2. Nominate 10 new bloggers.
  3. Answer the questions asked by the person who nominated me.
  4. Create 10 new questions for the bloggers I nominate.
  5. Notify new bloggers about the nomination.

Nominations:

  1. dineANDrhyme
  2. The Guiltless Foodies
  3. one taste at a time
  4. Sillage and Souvenir
  5. Peas Romaine Calm
  6. All The Pasta
  7. Summer Daisy
  8. Milliesfeuille

Now it is time for the questions asked to me :

What made you decide to start your blog?

I like to click pictures of what I eat, and I like to write (I would like to think I am decent at it). People would always ask me about where to go to eat so and so, or for so and so reason. Also, I always wanted to own something where I can put down my thoughts. A food blog was a perfect combination for achieving all of these – thus was born The Foodie Battle.

What’s the best vacation you ever took?

It was an impromptu trip to Goa with a friend. While Goa may seem just another trip to some people reading this, for me it is the perfect place to go if I have 3-4 days in hand : Beaches, the rustic beauty of old Goa, the shacks and the yummy food. For me, this trip was special because it helped me see a totally different side of my friend, a side so much in sync with me and so hidden from all of us, that it could be a totally different person! And of course, we ate some of the most amazing dishes when we were there and it was monsoon! 🙂

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

If I could travel anywhere, it would be Santorini or Corsica. The beauty, the oceans and the colours, the quiet and the community! Perfection!!

What’s your favorite food?

I do not have a defined favourite, I am too moody to make anything my favourite. But two things I never say no to is Nachos with tons of cheese and Ice cream (preferably Orange Candy).

What food would you never eat or eat again?

Sushi.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My parents and my friends. I draw inspiration from many people, sometimes people I do not even know, You just see a random act that shows the true spirit and good nature of people and you are amazed and inspired and overwhelmed at the same time.

What would your spirit animal be?

Wolf.

What movie could you watch over and over again?

I am not a person to watch a single movie multiple times; there are so many amazing ones out there to treat yourself to, why restrict oneself? But if I am in need of an assured feel-good movie,  would go to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara or Wake up Sid! or Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani or any good Hugh Grant/Julia Roberts movie.

Do you like to write outside your blog? (Journal, poetry, etc)

Yes, I do, sometimes anything random that comes to my mind, any random thought that then gets expanded into a giant monologue in my mind, I like to pen those down.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

My first trek, Prabalgad, it was at an elevation of 2300feet, and I did it.The fact that I fought the urge to give up and  accomplished it makes me happy as well as proud.

Here are my questions to the new bloggers :

  1. Do you blog for a living or is this a passion/hobby?
  2. How did you arrive at your blog’s name?
  3. Your favourite movie? Why would you say it is your favourite?
  4. How would you describe your relation with food?
  5. What are the top five entries in your life to-do list?
  6. An adventure sport that scares you too much?
  7. Have you taken a solo trip? Where to? If not, will you consider it?
  8. What is your zodiac sign?
  9. Do you like dogs? Do you have one (or many)? Which is your favourite breed?
  10. Do you like to read? Your favourite book? Which one are you reading currently?

So now you have my answers and some questions for you. If you do decide to go ahead (no pressure), please do let me know so I can read what you have to say 🙂

  1. Congratulations for being nominated,
but apart from this I do hav a question for you (don’t mind).
What’s the best and worst thing about being a food blogger?

    1. The best part is you get to eat all these amazing things and the worst part is that this can easily become a job or a task you have to do every week and not remain your passion or like anymore… That is the end of a wonderful love affair!!
