AndaMental is the perfect example of ‘chota packet, badaa dhamaka’.
A brilliant concept with a pretty good expanse of egg-based options. The outlet is a small one, in a really crowded locality. It reminded me of my college days when we used to sit at such pocket-friendly hangouts for hours discussing everything that is pointless under the sun! We chatted away while the delicious aroma of our order being prepared made our mouth water!
We started with their famous item – Mumbai Vadapav Omelette, a brilliant mix of the wicked vada pav and a simple omelette. The taste is perfect, with neither overshadowing the other’s flavour. Do try it with the garlic chutney and onions for a spicier version. A unique and mental combination. Loved it!
Next came the Paneer Lababdar Roll, a spicy red gravy based paneer roll, with strong flavours of onion and garlic, and delicious soft pieces of paneer. Yummm!
While we were busy discussing the mentally filmy problem of who came first, the chicken or the egg…AndaMental won the race with its delicious Tawa Bhurji Roll. A little on the drier side, completely devoid of any excess oil, this one is one of the best anda-bhurji I have tried. Adequately spicy, with tomatoes, coriander, onions, etc. and rolled up in a maida roti, the Tawa Bhurji Roll makes for a filling option.
Overall experience : Delicious and pocket-friendly food, with smiling people, what more does one need!
The Battle: Controlling the urge to order more of their delicacies. Why control you ask? ‘Coz I was full silly!
But worry not, I am definitely going for more!
